A children’s book about Chico, perseverance, and overcoming obstacles.

Follow the story of two brothers searching for their cat in Upper Bidwell Park. They’ll strike up silly conversations with some of the parks inhabitants including a Catfish, an Alligator, and a Bear.

This is a story meant to inspire younger generations to explore our beautiful park while teaching them to overcome challenges through perseverance and a positive attitude.

About the book:

I wanted to create something that inspires kids to go outside and explore. Growing up in Chico, my parents and grandparents always took my siblings and I to the park to get our energy out. We would hike Monkey Face, swim in Sycamore Pool, and go on walks through lower park. Having my own children now, I want to foster the same curiosity and wonder I had growing up with my siblings. This book is a way of expressing my gratitude to my parents and grandparents for the chance to scrape my knees, get soaked to the bone, and have the time of my life as a kid. I hope it finds a way to inspire it’s readers to do the same.

This is my own passion project. I’m not currently working with a publisher. Everything in the book is illustrated, written, and designed by me. No AI is being used for any of the content created for this project.

The book is set for release mid-year 2025.
